Updates and Highlights 2009

CONGRATULATIONS TO ROSE SHAW!!!!

She made it through the tough field of the "NAUGHTY GIRLS"-- "Sweet Sixteen" to race for the trailer. She also made it to the semi's for the trailer.

The weather could of been better though...the cold and wet / windy weather makes for a bad "hair day"

For those who raced for the "Sweet Sixteen" recieved not only their yearly jacket, but a beautiful Halloween ghost, cat or which ever you recieved. Thanks to all who helped put these together. This is begining to become a collective item, as well as the jackets.

RECAP end of season:
TOP 5:

  1. JACKIE ALLEY - OUR NEW CHAMPION!!!!
  2. JENNIFER BARR
  3. LISA PATTAN
  4. MARY LIESE
  5. LISA THOMAS

Put your hands together in congratulating these gals for a job well done.

The final points of the Club Challenge are as follows:
PSI took first place with 2558 points
Naughty Girls came in with a very close points chase of 2504
Both Melba and Mopars were right behind us; but very close on our heels.

It was a very intence night with our gals going rounds and picking up points.....but not enough points were earned. Our girls did their best to go rounds.
Great job!

Our yearly get together will be announced at a later date, pending on availablility and schedules of those who wish to attend.

With the holiday season beginning to take shape, and the weather to change I will do my best to keep you informed of up and coming events.

Woodburn Update:

Naughty Girls that went to Woodburn as part of Team Firebird included:

Friday's race had Courtney Alley finishing runner up in the No Electronics Gambler!!

Saturday's Race of Champions Update:

Keep up the great work girls and all of Team Firebird! Stay tuned as more updates follow.

WOW!!!! We had a good turn out; 29 gals came and kicked butt; for being a "rescheduled" race. We want to thank all those who came out and help keep the NG's up in the points. We are currently in second, just nipping at the heels of PSI.

Did you happen to see the Firebird Raceway web site? Click on the "Track News" and you will see, Lisa Thomas and the Naughty Girls, in a Winners Cirlce photo. Yes.....Lisa did it! she took bracket 1 and the pot!

What happened to BRACKET 3 and 4?

Mary Liese had a close call....her guardian angel sure was watching over her this night. In a time trial, one of her competitors decided that reverse was a better chioce of gear. He did a 360° right in front of her. Fortunately, Mary thought she was having fuel pump issues and lifted just in the knick of time. Good driving on her part.

The piggy didn't get too FAT this night. We only had 5 little miss hap's. But, if you don't go RED once in a while, you ain't a tryn'. The most fortunate thing about them this night was, most of them were in the later rounds.

Our "FRIENDSHIP PLATE" was handed to Christine Mihlisko. She does so much for the Naughty Girl team, that the plate was given to a great gal at a great time. Thanks Christine for all your hard work.

Our last Club race is coming! September 11, 2009
Let Lisa or Deana know if you are commited for this race. A.S.A.P.

This will be the last chance for you to achieve a spot in the "SWEET 16" at the Halloween Classic for the Trailer Run off. We will be taking names for those who make the top honor and what we would like to get.....jackets, hoodies, or vesties.

At this race we will also be choosing who, and how we will run the order of NG run off. Get your thinking hats on and get ready to voice your vote!

"SUMMIT E.T. FINALS" are Sept. 5, 6 & 7th in Woodburn Org. Good Luck to all who go!

RAIN RAIN.... DIDN'T GO AWAY!
The race has been rescheduled to AUG. 21.

THERE WILL BE A FEW GALS THAT WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND BECAUSE OF SOME PRIOR SCHEDULES.

IF YOU CAN BE THERE, TO KEEP THE NAUGHTY GIRLS ALIVE.....LET LISA AND DEANA KNOW. A.S.A.P.

Each of you gals have done a fantastic job. Thank you!

RECIPES NEEDED!
The salads last race were just grand. I need those recipes for the web site. The black bean with cucumbers was delightful. And the pies.......ohh they hit the spot for the 4th of July. The chicken salads... I am still waiting for those recipes.

And of course, the "COOKIE" shouldn't be left out. He does a wonderful job on those dogs.Crispy, just right and juicy enough to NOT need a napkin, but better have one.

SPECIAL NOTICE: If you have not been to the Firebird Raceway web site yet, you may want too.
On Friday, July 3rd, Joe McDonald was caught using a delay box in Club Bracket #2. He was disqualified from the event and stripped of the eliminator victory. He will lose all of his points for the 2009 season in Pro eliminator, the Club Challenge Series and Outlaw Street competition.

NEXT CLUB RACE: AUG. 7th ! Get your spot reserved; if you know you will be there. This race will be just before the Pepsi NightFire.

ARE WE READY?

I sure hope so., If you have not confirmed your spot, now is the time to start thinking about it. July 3rd will be here sooner then you think.

We are, according to the Firebird web site, in the #2 spot. PSI is only 9 points ahead. (That is less than 1 round) I think we can push ahead this race.....CAN YOU!

Who's in?

Fox Hunt Update:
We had a great showing of gals for all days of the Fox Hunt.

Friday the weather caused the race to be eighth mile instead of a quarter mile due to wind gust of 25 – 30 mph.
The rain came and the race was finished on Saturday morning.

Friday Results:
Win-Valmarie Griffiths .058, 8.12 (8.06 dial) 80.47.
Runner-up-Megan Mihalisko .345, 8.62 (8.55 dial) 80.09.
Semi-Jennifer Barr (`67 Mustang)
Semi's Pam Lottman (broke)

Saturday the weather turned out perfect and there was a lot of good racing with a really big crowd on hand.

Saturday Results:
Win-Melissa Jarboe .032, 10.08 (10.08 dial) 130.49.
Runner-up-Gina Luckow .132, 16.60 (16.61 dial) 82.54.
Semi-Julie Hart (`67 Dart)

A HUGE pat on the back to Christine Mihalisko for doing such an awesome job on ironing out all the details for the Fox Hunt!!

Next club race is scheduled for July 3rd. Make plans now to attend!!

Race 3 Update

We had a great showing for the third race of the season!! With Lisa Thomas and Doris Twitty doing some last minute recruiting, we had 32 girls show up to do some racing.
Thanks to everyone that continues to support our club.

Bracket 1 had a first time winner with Melissa Jarboe taking on a very tough class, with the entire class of 5 all winning their 1st rounds!!
Bracket 2 only had Christine Mihalisko make it 2 rounds. (Way to go Christine!)
Bracket 3 made an excellent showing with Mary Liese going 3 rounds!
Bracket 4 had only Jackie Page in it and she went 2 rounds. Nice job!
Bracket 5 had Lisa Patton with another victory for the year. She also took home the pot!!

We had a lot of racers go multiple rounds, 330 points total in just round wins, that helped move us within 9 points of PSI!!! Naughty Girls with 1348 and PSI with 1357. This is going to be close battle all season and we need to make sure that there are 32 girls racing at each event in order to keep us in the running for the number 1 spot for the season!!!

We only had 4 red lights this race which is an improvement from previous races.(Good Job EVERYONE!!)

The friendship plate was passed on to Lyndsey Deatry from Wendy Rick.

This week is the FOX HUNT!!!!!

Hope to see all the girls come out and support our very own race!!! There are some great prizes this year for each day to the winners and runner-ups, including a hand made quilt and cute little fox on display in the Pro Shop.

Next club race is scheduled for July 3rd!! Please let Lisa Thomas know if you will be there. Again we need to have 32 girls there to race to keep up the great season we are having so far.

Race 2 Update

WOW! Did the Naughty Girls KICK BOOTIE or WHAT!!!!!

Club race #2;
The Naughty Girls were awesome!

Thanks to all who came out; 32 gals came and boosted our points standing to where we are only 2 rounds out of first place. PSI still has the lead; where as Melba and Mopar are nipping at our heels.

The bracket that held on this race, was once again, #5! You go girls!

Bracket #1 (they actually went rounds) Was lead by Lisa; our prez. We want to congratulate Brittany for her superb run in mom’s car. Step down mom, Brittany is a drivin’ in Bracket 1

Bracket #2 WHAT happened?

Bracket #3 This bracket actually did something this race. Thanks to Mary Liese whom went to the Quarter finals. Jackie Alley and Deana Bullington went several rounds as well.

Bracket #4 Jackie Page did awesome, but was stopped by the dreaded RED LIGHT in the quarters as well. Did you feed the PIGGY?

Bracket #5 You gals rocked. Between Lisa Pattan, Jan Shaver and Doris Twitty; with Doris going to the Semis and missing her dial by just fractions, this bracket saved our tushes

Doris is the big winner of the night. She won the pot; and didn’t have to feed the pig!

Speaking of Feeding the PIG; we had more red lights then last race. I think the PIGGY needs to cut back next race. For those of you whom had a RED LIGHT, did you feed the pig?

NEWS FROM THE PREZ.

Our club is getting so popular that we had to start taking reservations.

If you KNOW you will be at the next race, sign up at Lisa’s trailer. If you are unsure, then DON’T sign it. If you didn’t get to run at the club race, and you want to run at the next, email or call Lisa or Deana and get your name on the roaster. The first 32 CONFIRMS will be allowed to run.

VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE!!

It was brought up last club race, if someone wanted to start another NG TOO! The original club will fund it. We want all gals to be able to run with the NG club without hurt feelings. Since we are getting so big, if someone wants to take this responsibility, all you risk is losing your points. The good side of this is, you will still be a NG, the team is still a part of NG and no one loses. We would still be a TEAM. Get with Lisa if you wish to take on this HUGE task!

BE SURE TO SIGN IN WHEN YOU ARRIVE! WE DON’T WANT TO MISS ANYONE

Final Note: If you have a new or updated picture for the webpage please email to LisaT600@hotmail.com or ngracingclub@hotmail.com.

Race 1 Update

WaHOOOO!

The record was broken at this, the first Club Challenge of the season, 245 attended and the Naughty girls had 32 gals come and KICK some bootie! (Actually 33) But, with the rules, only 32 can race.

The official points for the Naughty Girls, is 446. We are 4 rounds behind PSI and 7 rounds ahead of Melba.

The temperature of the evening was a bit CHILLY we were all donning our jackets and gloves as the sun dropped below Pepper Hill. The track, temperature and the wind played a very big part for evening. You had to be on you’re “A” game through out the night.

At first our girls were dropping like flies, but as the night progressed, our gals were going round after round. And before you knew it, the finals were upon us.

WINNERS:
JACKIE ALLEY in Bracket 1
ROSE SHAW in Bracket 2 (whom also won the pot)
along with Semi finalist:
DEANA BULLINGTON in Bracket 3

Now, our RED LIGHT PIGGY seemed to have gained some weight! Last year we averaged 5 per race, well, we surpassed it; we had 7 RED lights! I think we need to let the piggy lose some weight at the next race; which is: MAY 8TH

There was a Birthday Party for Kristi Shawver, whom turned 20 on Saturday (4/25) Where mom brought a VERY large and beautifully decorated cake to celebrate and share. And we also would like to say Happy Birthday to Nisha Cox.

IMPORTANT:

Each gal needs to either contact Lisa Thomas or Deana Bullington by email or by phone at: LisaT600@hotmail.com or 895-8644 for Lisa and ngracingclub@hotmail.com or 922-2200 for Deana. We need you to confirm your spot on the team for that race. If by Wednesday night we don’t have enough gals, then on Thursday we can contact those whom have not responded. If you know you will not be able to attend, send a email on that as well. At each race there will be a sheet for you to “reserve” your spot for the next race. If at any time your plans should change, then let Lisa or Deana know so we can fill your spot quickly.

Once at the track be sure to SIGN IN If you are not, you may be over looked and missed. The BRACKET CAPTAIN may miss you and a decision may be made to where you could be bumped off, and we don’t want that. We want EVERY gal to be counted for.

ATTENTION ALL NAUGHTY GIRLS!!!!!!

CLUB RACE FRIDAY NIGHT APRIL 24TH at 6:00 p.m.

Come early to find and save a spot for others, and get tech'd in.

For those of you that will be racing, please email Lisa Thomas (LisaT600@cs.com) or leave a message at: 1-208-895-8644

If you need a new shirt or sticker, Lisa Patten will have them there too!

Remember, to bring a salad, chips, dessert or favorite dish to share with the girls and the Sluts.

If you bring a great treat, bring the recipe also!

Reminder for those who wish to participate: the pot is $2.00 and Jack-Pot fund is $1.00. And if those who are luck to get a nasty RED light, its only $1.00

"NAUGHTY GIRLS WILL SHINE IN 2009"

That is the motto for this year’s season. On March 27, we had 23 gals come to the Computers for Kids to attend an organizational meeting (Thanks again to Molli Wingert for letting us meet at her place). At this meeting we discussed everything from last years points to this years Halloween Classic. If you could not attend, here is a brief synopsis of what was discussed.

The fees for 2009, to be a part of the best Club at Firebird are $10.00. There were stickers available and shirts for the gals and S.L.U.T. shirts for the guys. We ate some delicious foods and had home made "slushies" till way after 9 pm.

Lisa started off with an important issue, To all of those who send/forward emails to her or Troy, that are funny and cute, they are not able to respond to most of them or view them in a fashionable time frame. So she is requesting that you don’t forward any unless it pertains to the Naughty girls or is a personal email. If you are responding to her email, for say a race question, please keep them brief and to the point.

This year we will need volunteers for some task. And suggestions are always welcome.

  1. Deana Bullington will handle all the emails and send offs pertaining to the web site and notices to each gal. She will need your email address and a phone number that she can contact you. If you wish to be called instead of emailed, let her know that too. You can send it to: ngracingclub@hotmail.com. She agrees to WEED out all junk mail and only sends things pertaining to the club.

  2. Lisa Patten will take care of the T-shirts. Everything from the handing them out to ordering them. So if you need a new one, we have plenty. Guys and gals. If there is a particular size needed for you or your helpers, you can contact her at the track or on the email set up for the Naughty Girls.

  3. Lisa Patten also has agreed to handle the stickers. Large or small. She’s got them all. Both of these, shirts and stickers require a good sense of organization and willingness to handle the huge volume of sales. Especially at certain races which I will discuss later.

  4. A Jackpot trip is being handled by none other than, Lesli Northup. She is putting together a fun bus for a bachelorette party and has agreed to include the Naughty Girls and a guest. So far, our Jackpot fund is at $150.00. The cost for the trip; double occupancy; is $65.00 per person. If you wish to continue to contribute to the Jackpot fund, pay your usual $1 to “Bookie”. The trip is scheduled to take place in August after Night Fire. More information will be available in the coming months. But don’t hesitate...seats will go fast.

  5. Molli and Steve Wingert will be the designated "Bookies". Mollie will oversee the treasury for the Naughty Gals fund and Steve will be the collector. It was brought up that after you tech-in for your bracket, come over to Lisa Thomas’ trailer to sign in. This year, as in the past, $2 will be collected. This is for the gal that goes the most rounds at that race. And if you happen to be trying a bit too hard, and a silly RED light get the best of you, we also have a fund for that. Just be sure to deposit your $1 in the "FEED THE PIG" bank with your name on it. Jen and Kristi Shawver donated the little pig bank.

  6. Lesli Northup will be sponsoring the gals this year with a "$25 gift Certificate" to the gal that goes the most rounds at each race. This way you can choose your own gift. Anything from personal items, too candles, or oils. She has an array of items.

  7. At the first race, April 24th, we will be choosing a Bracket Captain. This captain will be the one to be sure everyone is signed up for a lane. To let all those in her bracket know which lane each gal is running, so you don’t get "bumped" and end up running a teammate. The captain will also be the one to make sure each gal has the proper letter on their window so we get the points that are so very important. So if you want to take on this task, let it be known at the first race. This is for the entire 6 club challenges.

  8. Speaking of lane calls and getting "BUMPED". We need to be sure we are ready when the Firebird announcers call your bracket. When you hear the bracket before yours, start getting yourself ready. That means; checking your lane choice with the bracket captain, tires set, jacket, helmet, dial-in decided on, (or air taken for most) so when they do call your class down, we can be ready. Now if you are choosing a different lane then the other gals; when were you going down, first or waiting until almost the last, which ever, just be sure to let your bracket captain know. For if you get bumped and you end up running another Naughty Girl, we are loosing a precious point for the team. So be careful when you choose a different lane. And after you run your class or you happen to lose that round, please, let’s all line up by the fence and watch the other gals make their runs. Lets cheer them on and go to the winner’s circle as a team.

  9. The "FRIENDSHIP PLATTER" will start off this year with Wendy Rae Rick. (Herbie) The platter was started a few years ago and has grown in many ways. It is passed on at each race from one Naughty Girl to another Naughty Girl, and it can be any thing you wish. Some have done candies, candles, fruit and even personal items, or something for just them. Maybe this person helped you go that extra round, or she helped you with tires, or an engine problem. Whatever the case, lets keep the "friendship platter" going. But remember, it may be shared with other members of the team.

  10. The Fox Hunt, June 19 & 20, is one of the races that the Naughty Girls has been sponsoring for the last 2 years. This year being the year for the Naughty Girls to shine, we need suggestions and volunteers to help Christine Mihalisko. It was suggested, handouts like last year; gift cards for the winners, key chains, sponsored shirts and bigger fox’s. So if you have any suggestions please contact Christine at the track.

  11. A challenge is being sent out; well sort of. We will need a team of volunteers for this task as The Naughty Girls would like to sponsor a plague; with the approval of the News crew, at the Halloween classic. This is for the guy who bests their best as a "NAUGHTY GIRL" racer. And we, the Naughty Girls will choose the winner.

  12. Dinner...did someone mention DINNER! Cookie wants a helper. It was suggested that we start dinner a bit later then usual. Instead of after first round, we start dinner after 2nd round. Only because the track has chosen to run the 1st and 2nd bracket so close together. (EI: bracket 1 and 2 and 1 again.) So, if you would like to help, let Troy know. Hot dogs and Carrizo’s seem to be the favorite, they are easy and delicious. So keep bringing those great dishes and fresh salads to the track. But be prepared to share your recipe. We need new DINNER SPECIALS on the web site.

  13. It was also suggested by Doris Twitty, that if the guys who wish to participate with the Naughty Girls, and start up their own team, you can call yourselves "NAUGHTY ALTEREDS". This way you can still be a team of your own, and still be a S.L.U.T. member for the gals. We will need someone to take this and run with it. But remember this will be your team and the gals will cheer you on. (Unless you take out one of the gals, then it’s BOO on you!)

First club race:
APRIL 24TH
BE READY AND LET’S SHINE!

Our 2008 Champion has been Crowned! ROSE SHAW

The evening was great. Great food and good chat was in the CARDS for the evening.
We want to thank “Computers for Kids” for the use of the building to hold our get together. Even though Molly was not present, her husband, Steve, was there to accommodate to our needs. Great dish’s were present, Veggie tray’s and dips, great selection of salads; Chicken Oriental Salad, red potato salad, original potato salad, Taco Soup, and Mexi Chili. Lets not forget the sweets, we had Cream pies, Fruit pies and even homemade cupcakes dolled with a Pink Rose. (All in honor of Rose, the 2008 Champion). It just shows, those who attend any Naughty Girl get together, you will not go hungry.

As the night rolled on and plates were cleaned, Lisa started to hand out the gifts to our top place finishers and champion. It seems that we had a few gifts left over from the season and it was decided to hand them out to the top finishers. If you were not present, then your gift was “auctioned” off from the Red Light fund.

The RED LIGHT FUND is a fun way to add a little challenge to yourself. This year (2008) we averaged 5 RED lights per race. If you RED light in eliminations, you can place a $1 in the fund with your car number / name on it, and at the end of the year, we pick a bill out of the fund and you win that pot. After several attempts to pick a winner from the stack of $1 bills, because those whom were not present, we finally have a winner: Lisa Johnson.

In 2008, our Naughty Girl count is at 43. That’s one heck of a count for a ladies team. On an average, we had 28 gals show up and ready to race, with only one time we had to call and ask one of the gals not to race. Which the rules state, only 32 cars can race from your club on that particular night.

The points for the season were VERY close and nail bitting to the end. This was the closes points for the Naughty Girls, with only 208 points behind the Outlaws and 150 points from PSI. The last race for the season was the biggest loss and the best racing on record.

The evening ended with a fun game of POKER. We started out with 9 poker sharks and ended up with the Northups taking the pot.

REMINDER: MARCH 27 @ 6:00pm Ladies only!
ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING FOR ALL NAUGHTY GIRLS.
If you plan on racing you must attend! At this meeting we will be discussing the rules, shirts, Fox Hunt team, any and all important issues to the team. Bring your thinking caps, Pot luck dish and your drink and lets make this year the year the Naught Girls take the Championship!
